Poudre Pub Talks – Waste & Water: The Impact of Diversion

The Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area puts on a series of events known as the Poudre Pub Talks to focus on local conservation.
We’re honored to be speaking at Horse & Dragon Brewing in the last installment of the season discussing the intersection of waste management and water conservation.
Organics sent to the landfill can create groundwater contamination and liquid runoff known as leachate – contaminating nearby water and environmental resources. Proper organics management practices like composting diverts these resources from landfills and can improve local soil water retention. Learn how you can participate in carbon recycling and the huge impact it has on methane emissions, soil health and water management.
Cache la Poudre River National Heritage Area will also be holding a giveaway! Doors open at 5 PM and the “Wheel of Chance” spins at 6:00 and 6:30 PM. Every two dollar donation to the Heritage Area gets you an entry.
