Jamie Blanchard-Poling has been home composting for ten years, and founded Compost Queen in 2018 with a goal to fight climate change through food waste recycling. As a Certified Compost Operations Manager and Co-Chair of the Colorado Composting Council, Jamie’s efforts focus on spreading knowledge of composting methods, diverting materials from the landfill and restoring soils here in Colorado.

Composting organic matter in your home or backyard is one of the largest emissions impacts you can make in your daily life. Yard and food waste are valuable resources that, when properly managed, create a high quality soil amendment known as compost. Compost closes the loop on the carbon cycle, returning organic matter to local soils to improve water retention, add biology and restore nutrients.

Learn to build your home or garden’s soils by making your own compost in the backyard with us! This class is all ages, but is best for ages 12 and up.
